Yoga is the art of learning to get back to yourself.
It is discovering the limits, expanding the limits and the ability to truly relax, be yourself. It means finding time for who you are, but have you forgotten, while trapped in the vortex of a fast-paced and fast-paced life.
On a physical level, just like in life, when you are unbalanced, you don’t feel good. When you feel like you can turn around at any time, you are neither safe nor comfortable.
One of the reasons for the popularity of yoga has increased dramatically, is that it helps you feel harmonious, integrated, and whole.
One of the reasons for the popularity of yoga has increased dramatically, is that it helps you feel harmonious, integrated and whole.
As you learn how to find your center in one yoga position (or pose), you will learn to find your center in other areas of life. In fact, by learning to perform a yoga position, you learn to better cope with life events.
What is yoga?
2,500 years ago, an author named Patanjali wrote Yoga Sutra, the first text on the practice. He defined yoga as citta-vrtti-nirohdah, meaning the cessation of the agitation of the mind. The definition is to calm the mind.
This is the most common modern definition, as developed by that eminent teacher, TKV Desikachar, who has said that yoga aims to “direct the mind exclusively towards one object and maintain that direction without distraction.”
Westerners and amateurs often think about yoga from different physical postures. The name itself comes from the Sanskrit word yuj, which is often translated as “join or connect.”
All these associations involve integration and balance or bringing oneself into a harmonious state. Other meanings of the word yuj include “centering your thoughts, focusing on yourself, or meditating deeply.”
The practice of Yoga helps us acquire inner peace.
These meanings are perfectly related to the definition quoted above in Yoga-sutra.
Yoga is actually a state of mind. Achieving the goal of calming the mind is difficult to achieve, so practices have been developed that allow you to achieve that state. Peace of mind is rather an unattainable goal.
In contrast, the progress made in reaching a yoga position can be evaluated by alignment, by the length of stretch and by how long it can be sustained. It is much easier to refer to something tangible the body and then go to something intangible the peace of mind.
During yoga practice, start from a familiar place, using your body and breath, and head into the unknown. As you open your body and mind with the help of yoga poses and breathing exercises, you become receptive to the deep experience of inner tranquility.
Buddhist meditation techniques are used during yoga practice.
While the human mind tends to get carried away by thoughts about the past or the future, the human body exists only in the present moment. The Hatha yoga , a type of yoga that emphasizes vigorous and sustained effort, promotes body awareness. Returning to your own body brings your mind back to the present.
Then the worries disappear. One of the reasons yoga refreshes us so much is, even for a moment, that it makes us realize the reality of the present moment. Every time you return to the present, you release a certain burden.
You can accumulate again after a very short time, but it is important to practice unpacking. In the end, you will be able to reduce stress more often and for longer periods of time. In this sense, yoga is an exercise for life. The practice of Yoga is a fabulous transformative tool.
The Yoga sutras tell us that yoga is made up of eight branches, aspects of Hatha yoga practice that include codes of conduct, moral and physical exercises, breathing exercises, concentration (the ability to focus the mind on an object and holding it), and meditation (a state of focus on one point).
Asana, the use of physical poses, is the practice generally associated with yoga in the west. However, yoga can be anything that gives you a sense of oneness, helps you better connect with yourself, and helps you remember who you are. It can be a walk on the beach, a pleasant yawn, or just a single conscious breath.
Any practice that helps you focus is important. When operating from a location close to your own center, it is easier to be calmer and more focused.
Any imbalance is a huge source of stress. When things go wrong and you are already off balance, it is like swimming against a strong current or flow.
The further away you are, the more difficult it will be for you to swim to shore. On the other hand, distractions and sensory stimulation often make you look outward rather than inward.
The real challenge in life is being able to stay “with” yourself, while interacting managers with others; to respond appropriately to people and events, while staying connected to yourself.
The rewards of yoga
The practice of yoga has long-term rewards for the body and the physical aspects of the human body, as well as an immediate effect of a state of well-being. You feel better in a more relaxed and free body than in a contracted and tense body.
The human body was designed to move freely. By integrating all the parts that make up the whole being, practitioners often feel that they feel better and freer.
After practice, they are more relaxed and happy. According to Indian philosophy, everything is a combination of three essential qualities, called gunas: sattvic (pure, balanced), rajas (activity, restlessness), and tamas (inertia, laziness, depression).
Best practices of yoga integrated into your own life.
Most students begin practicing yoga in a state of impatience or hyperactivity, or laziness. At the end of most practical sessions, they reach an uplifting state, both mentally and physically.
Yoga brings a feeling of expansion on several levels. It allows them to rediscover an inner sense of fulfillment that has often been lost in the world. Proper practice relieves tension in your body and calms your mind.
The correct practice will restore a feeling of vitality to your body, refresh your mind, and bring you peace of mind if you start out with a gloomy and lethargic body and soul.
Each yoga practice represents an ascension of consciousness that creates a reversal of the current condition. Every time you really come back to yourself; you have the opportunity to appreciate your essential integrity.
Yoga gives you the tools to move from passion to clarity to calm, from stress to relaxation, from illness to help. You often do this, helping you move from a tense and committed mode of existence to an easy and fluid mode of interrelation.
It means that it is the right path for you if the practice of yoga extends and gives you joy.
